Ms. Charmaine Cheng, the Company Secretary and Deputy General Manager of Corporate Governance Department of the Group, is honored to serve for two consecutive years as a juror in the ESG Achievement Awards (the "Achievement Award"), founded by the Institute of ESG & Benchmark (“IESGB”) and co-organized by the Institute of Financial Technologists of Asia (“IFTA”). The Presentation Ceremony cum Luncheon was successfully held on 25 September 2024 with Mr. Joseph Chan Ho-lim, JP, Under Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury of the Hong Kong SAR Government, as the guest of honor. A total of 16 judges were present on the panel and awards and certificates were presented to the winning enterprises, organizations, and individuals.
The theme of this year's Awards, "Driving Positive Change: Innovations in Sustainable Practices and Responsible Risk Management,” highlights the vital role of innovative strategies in addressing contemporary challenges. Ms. Charmaine Cheng is responsible for judging the entries in the following categories: Best Sustainable Vision Award, acknowledges corporates with a clear set of governance structure and policies that set the tone to determine the sustainability missions in promoting a net zero carbon footprint; and ESG Learning and Development Awards, acknowledges corporations that have taken steps to educate and guide their internal stakeholders, staff, supplier, investor and partners on the evolving requirements of environmental, social, and corporate governance (“ESG”) through the establishment of training programs or guidance. Demonstrated a commitment to creating a sustainable future for the community and future generations by hosting workshops and sharing sessions to spread awareness about ESG considerations.
